Al Nassr opened its new season account with a 5-0 thumping of Al Taawoun in the Saudi Professional League 2025/26 opener on Friday 29 August, 2025.
Former Chelsea attacking midfielder, Joao Felix, who spent 2025 on loan with Serie A club, AC Milan, moved to Al Nassr in July on a permanent deal, scored a hat-trick for The Global One and former Juventus forward, Ronaldo, scored one from the penalty spot.
The Portuguese goal machine had pleaded with fans for support prior to the top flight showdown, saying, “we’ve trained, we’re ready”, and “we will give it everything we’ve got”.
Felix netted the first for the visitors early, in the 7th minute, converting Angelo Gabriel’s assist; the Portuguese went ahead to net two more in the 67th minute and late, in the 87th minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo netted in the 54th minute, and former Bayern Munich winger, Kingsley Coman, found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
With five (5) goals, Al Nassr takes the top spot on the table, trailed by Al Khaleej and Al Hilal, while, Al Taawoun are 18th with zero (0) point.
Following his beautiful performance for Al Nassr, Joao Felix carted the Man Of The Match award.
