‘I am not here to complain’ – Okpebholo inspect bad roads inherited from past administration

Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, on Friday 1 August, 2025, inspected critical “failed” road section across Edo Central inherited from the past adminstration.

The Governor said, the roads have been in “terrible condition for years”, however, he is “not here to complain”.

Okpebholo said, his government has started making moves to begin “urgent palliative works” with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support.

He said, the roads are “lifelines” for the people of the South-South State, adding, they “connect communities and drive td economy”.

Governor Okpebholo posted on X: “Yesterday, I inspected critical failed road sections across Edo Central.We visited the Onewa-Udomi-Ibhiolulu-Afada-Idumoza-Eko-Uwaya-Ewora roads, Illushin Road, and New Agbor Road, all in Uromi, Esan North East LGA.

“These roads have been in terrible condition for years, inherited from the past administration. But I am not here to complain. I am here to work.

“With the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, we are already taking steps to begin urgent palliative works.These roads are lifelines for our people, they connect communities, drive the economy, and ensure safety.

“Under my watch, we will not leave Edo the way we met it. We are fixing what was neglected.”
