At the ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series on Thursday 21 August, 2025, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, disbursed “₦239 million” in cash and equipment to “476” beneficiaries in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
The Governor also pledged a “₦200 million” solar-powered street light project for the Constituency which is expected to “significantly boost grassroots development”.
Governor Eno posted on X: “In Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, I disbursed ₦239 million in cash and equipment to 476 beneficiaries during our ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series. I also received the constituency’s NEEDS document for inclusion in the 2026 People’s Budget.
“I thank the people of Ikono/Ini for the massive turnout and solidarity. I also acknowledged the pledge of a ₦200 million solar-powered street lighting project by Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong Udo, which will significantly boost grassroots development.”
Eno made known at the event, he promoted his aide, Mr. Essien Lawrence, to position of Special Assistant on Public Works “in recognition of his service”
Governor Eno further posted: “At the event, I announced the elevation of my aide, Mr. Essien Lawrence, to Special Assistant on Public Works in recognition of his service. It was an honour to be conferred with the traditional title of Obong Iberedem Ikono ndo Ini by the Paramount Rulers of Ikono and Ini.
“I remain committed to inclusive governance, working with our leaders and communities to deliver sustainable development under the ARISE Agenda.”
