The Federal Fire Service FCT Command made known, it rescued two (2) victims from a collapsed building on Sunday 3 August, 2025 in Abuja.
The victims, a security guard and a young boy, were trapped when the three-storey building collpased. A collaboration of a joint task force consisting of FFS Units 199 and 75 rescued both alive.
This was made known via a Press Release titled ‘Federal Fire Service FCT Command responds to building collapse, rescues two victims’, signed by ACG A.U UMAR, Head Corporate Services, Federal Fire Service Headquarters, on Sunday 3 August, 2025.
The Press Release reads: “The Federal Fire Service, FCT Command, was the first responder to a building collapse incident that occurred on Sunday, 3rd August, 2025, at about 1913 hours, in Life Camp, behind Kado Fish Market, Abuja.
“According to SF Arimah, the collapse involved a three-storey building, trapping a security guard and a young boy.
“Both victims were rescued alive through the combined efforts of a joint task force comprising FFS Units 199 and 75. Also present at the scene were personnel from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).”
