Fenerbahçe and Mourinho part ways

Turkish Süper Lig outfit, Fenerbahçe, and Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, have parted ways, as announced by the Club on Friday.

Mourinho joined Fenerbahçe from Italian Serie A club, AS Roma, after guiding the the Yellow and Reds for three (3) years from 2021 to 2024.

The Portuguese football manager led Fenerbahçe for just one season (2024/25).

Via X, Fenerbahçe announced: “Our Professional Football First Team’s technical director, Jose Mourinho, who has been carrying out his duties starting from the 2024-2025 season, has parted ways with us. We thank him for his efforts for our team until today and wish him success in his future career.”

Mourinho led Fenerbahçe to second in the Süper Lig 2024/25 with eighty-four (84) points, behind Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray who finished with ninety-five (95) points.

The former head coach of Manchester United was relieved of his managerial duties after Fenerbahçe failed to clinch a spot in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26, losing by a lone goal in the Play-offs to Portuguese Primeira Liga club, Benfica, on Wednesday 27 August, 2025.
