Nigeria’s Women’s Basketball Team, D’Tigress, currently sit on the eight (8th) position of the recently released FIBA rankings.
The United States of America (USA) hold the first spot, Nigeria are eighth, and Mali are 18th.
D’Tigress’ latest ranking is coming following Nigeria’s triumph at the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket which held in Cote D’Ivoire.
Nigeria defeated Mali in the final of the tournament 78-64 to emerge Champions of Africa for the fifth consecutive time, and seventh overall.
D’Tigress wrote on X: “The D’Tigresses sit pretty at #8 in the latest FIBA rankings.
“Nigeria, this is for us”
The top four (4) countries retained their positions while Nigeria moved three (3) levels up.
