Nigeria’s D’Tigress have clinched the 2025 AfroBasket title after downing Mali 78-64 in the final on Sunday 3 August, 2025 in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
D’Tigress came from behind to beat Mali and win their fifth AfroBasket title back-to-back – 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025; the Nigeria Women’s Basketball Team have won the title a record seven (7) times, including, 2003, 2005.
Following this outcome, Nigeria has now recorded a beautiful unbeaten run in the competition to twenty-nine (29) straight games—an unbroken streak which started in 2015.
