Drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto ‘free of bad portions’ as Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos road project almost complete

Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor of Ogun State, has released an update on the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project.

He said, the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto is close to completion.

Abiodun assured the people of the Southwestern State that, to drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto is now “free of bad portions”.

The Governor also made known, the work between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango is “progressing” uninterrupted, saying, the contractors have been charged to deliver “durable and motorable” road that will be to everyone’s advantage.

He affirmed, his government is sternly committed to making available quality infrastructure that will ensure growth of the economy and easy movement.

Via X, Governor Abiodun revealed: “We are delighted to inform our people that the drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto is now free of bad portions.

“The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free.

“Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all.

“Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people.

“As we continue with this project, we assure our citizens that we will not relent until the entire stretch of the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road is completed to world-class standard.”
