Today, for one to be “relevant and respected”, one must be in government and power, Ovation Magazine Publisher, Dele Momodu, believes.
Momodu’s statement is coming after his trip to the Island of Mykonos in Greece.
He saluted Nigerians who are “able to eke a living” for themselves and their families despite the “risks”, saying, the idea of “working hard and playing hard” looks like it has been “eroded” and changed in the last twenty (20) to thirty (30) years.
Momodu said, the cyberspace has been flooded by “antidemocratic bullies” who aim to convert everyone to “robots and lily-livered slaves”.
Dele Momodu wrote on X: “The concept of working hard and playing hard seems to have been eroded and changed drastically in the last two to three decades. Today, to be relevant and respected, you must be in government and power, in any form, struggling for available crumbs.
“We must salute every Nigerian who’s able to eke a living for himself and his family, against all odds, and still be able to speak truth to power, despite the attendant risks.
“The cyberspace has been invaded by antidemocratic bullies who seek to turn everyone into robots and lily-livered slaves… But “the ravening clouds shall not long be victorious, they shall not long possess the skies…”
“This too shall pass away… Only GOD is omnipotent…
“The journey of man continues… Goodbye MYKONOS, GREEK ISLAND…”
