AFC Bournemouth have expressed support for forward, Antoine Semenyo, following the racial abuse the player suffered in the Premier League 2025/26 opener against Liverpool at Anfield on Friday night.
The Cherries fell to Liverpool, defending champions, by two (2) goals to four (4), on Friday 15 August, 2025, with both goals for the visitors netted by Semenyo.
Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, also expressed his support for the forward as he condemned the abuse; the Dutchman said, Liverpool frowns at such actions, and disclosed the Police have been informed on the matter.
Via a statement posted on X, AFC Bournemouth said: “A great player but above all, a great human being.
“Only a strong character shows such resilience in those circumstances.
“We love you and are all with you, Antoine”
