Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, celebrates Peter Obi on the occasion of the former Anambra Governor’s 64th birthday today, Saturday 19 July, 2025.
Tambuwal said, Obi is coming in a time when Nigeria “yearns for principled leadership and moral clarity”, adding, the emergence of the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate “represent the possibility of a politics grounded in integrity, discipline, and service”.
Peter Obi was born on 19 July, 1961 in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Expressing his “warmest wishes”, Tambuwal prayed Obi “greater strength, wisdom, and grace”.
Tambuwal, who served as Sokoto Governor from 2015 to 2023, said, Obi’s tenure as Anambra Governor was marked by “fiscal responsibility, investment in education and health”, adding, Obi adopted a “governance model” that prioritized the welfare of Anambrarians.
Taking to X, Tambuwal wrote: “On the occasion of your 64th birthday, I extend my warmest wishes to you, Your Excellency, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.
“In a time when our nation yearns for principled leadership and moral clarity, your life has come to represent the possibility of a politics grounded in integrity, discipline, and service. You have consistently chosen the path of prudence over populism, of compassion over convenience, and of conscience over conformity.
“As former Governor of Anambra State, your tenure was marked by fiscal responsibility, investment in education and health, and a governance model that placed the people first. Even outside public office, your continued support to schools, hospitals, and communities across Nigeria speaks volumes of your philanthropy and commitment to humanity.
“Your unwavering dedication to the public good — in governance and as a private citizen — continues to inspire many across party lines and generations.
