Luis Enrique, head coach of French side, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), has said, the Les Parisiens are “ready” to face their Spanish opponents, Real Madrid, when they clash on Wednesday night.
PSG, newly crowned Kings of Europe, will play against Spanish giants, Real Madrid, in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 semi final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Wednesday 9 July, 2025 at 20:00 (WAT).
Enrique’s PSG ousted German Kings, Bayern Munich, in the quarter finals 2-0 to reach the last four, despite playing with nine (9) men, while Real Madrid knocked out another German top flight side, Borussia Dortmund, 3-2, to scale through.
At his press conference ahead of the showdown, Enrique said, “we are ready” for Xabi Alonso’s Los Blancos. The Spaniard described the encounter as “important” as he eyes a fourth trophy after winning the Ligue 1, Coupe De France and Uefa Champions League.
Enrique said: “It’s a very important match. It’s motivating. We are ready.”
Goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele secured PSG’s spot in the semi final.
Alonso, who left German club, Bayer Leverkusen, following the conclusion of the Bundesliga 2024/25 for Real Madrid, will be looking to clinch his first trophy in his first competition with the Los Blancos.
HC: This looks like PSG’s time but Alonso has all he needs to progress to the final!
