Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived Katsina State with the body of Late Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, today, Tuesday 15 July, 2025.
Spokesman/Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, announced: “Vice President Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina with the body and family members of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The Vice President was in London, where he was directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT to accompany the former President’s remains back to Nigeria.
“Former President Buhari, who died on Sunday in London, will be buried today (Tuesday) at his home in Daura, Katsina State.
“Vice President Shettima’s delegation included Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila @femigbaja, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum @ProfZulum, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar @YusufTuggar, and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia @ihadejia, who worked to ensure the dignified repatriation of the late former President.”
President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Katsina to receive the remains of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the burial in Daura, later today.
