The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has released an update on a viral video of stranded Nigerians in Central Africa.
The Commission said, it is “actively engaging” with relevant authorities to ensure their safe evacuation from the mining site where they are located.
In its update, NiDCOM made known: “The attention of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has been drawn to a viral video showing some Nigerians stranded in Central Africa.
“We are actively engaging with relevant authorities to facilitate their safe evacuation from the remote mining site where they are currently located. Given their distance from the nearest urban center, immediate steps are being taken to locate them, process emergency travel documents, and arrange their transportation to the capital.
“Additionally, flight tickets will be secured for their return to Nigeria. All necessary efforts are being mobilized to ensure their safe and swift repatriation.
“We remain committed to the welfare of Nigerians abroad and will provide further updates as the situation progresses.”
