United States (US) Mission Nigeria has announced, the US Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos, will be closed on Tuesday 15 July, 2025 to observe the public holiday in honour of Late former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
It further announced, all visa appointments scheduled for Tuesday will be rescheduled.
US Mission Nigeria announced via X: “The U.S. Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in observance of the public holiday declared by the Nigerian government in honor of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“All visa appointments slated for July, 15 2025, will be rescheduled.”
The body of the Late former Head of State to be accompanied by Vice President, Kashim Shettima, and Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday.
