Official: Theo Hernandez exits AC Milan, joins Al Hilal

After six (6) years, French defender, Theo Hernandez, has left Italian Serie A club, AC Milan, and joined Saudi Professional League club, Al Hilal in a permanent deal.

Via an Official Statement on the club’s official website, the Rossoneri announced:

AC Milan can confirm that Theo Bernard François Hernández has joined Al-Hilal SFC on a permanent basis.
The Club would like to thank Theo for these six years together and wishes him all the best for his future personal and professional endeavours.

Theo Hernandez arrived at San Siro from La Liga side, Real Madrid, in the 2019 summer transfer window. He would go on to accumulate 262 appearances across all competitions, with 34 goals and 45 assists to his name.

The Frenchman was an essential member of the Rossoneri that won the Scudetto in 2021/22 under Coach Stefano Pioli, and then reached the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League the following season.

The contract between Al Hilal and Theo Hernandez will last for three (3) years, until the end of the 2027/28 season.

The signing ceremony held on Thursday 10 July, 2025 at the Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris, France in the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the new player.

27-year old Hernandez joins Al Hilal as one of the best players in Europe; he has represented France at Under-18, Under-19, and Under-20 levels.
