French Kings, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), have confirmed the signing of Renato Marin. The 19-year-old goalkeeper, has put pen to paper with the Les Parisiens for the next five (5) years, through to 2030.
Born on 10 July 2006 in São Paulo, Renato Belluci Marin found football in Brazil and immediately stood out thanks to his physical attributes and technical abilities.
He moved with his family to Rome, Italy, In 2020, to join the AS Roma youth team. Marin recorded his debut with the U17 team in September 2022 in a match against Lecce.
During the 2022-2023 season, he fielded in fifteen (15) matches with the U17 team and clinched the championship final against Inter Milan. He also featured in three matches with the Roman club’s U18 team.
In January 2024, the goalkeeper recorded his first appearance on the first team bench at home to Atalanta. At the age of 17, he became the starting goalkeeper for AS Roma Primavera, fielding in 39 matches – including 13 clean sheets – during the 2023-2024 season.
His performances bagged him a place in the Italian U19 squad in September 2023, with whom the goalkeeper, who is very confident with the ball at his feet, featured in 13 matches.
A constant starter in last summer’s European U19 Championship, Marin helped his team reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Marin made 28 appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s first team, including the first six games of the Europa League. He also fielded in 11 games for AS Roma Primavera, the club’s reserve team.
