Official: Manchester City midfielder Perrone joins Como on permanent deal

Premier League club, Manchester City, have announced, Argentine defensive midfielder, Maximo Perrone, has joined Italian side, Como, on a permanent deal.

Perrone spent three years at Etihad Stadium after signing from Argentinian outfit Velez Sarsfield in 2022.

22-year-old Perrone’s period at the Etihad saw him record two appearances for Spanish manager, Pep Guardiola, in 2022/23, making him a member of City’s historic Treble-winning team.

The midfielder’s other accolade saw him jubilate over the Club’s 2023 Super Cup win over Sevilla before he joined Las Palmas on loan for the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

The youthful defensive midfielder clinched valuable experience during the loan spell, recording a total of 30 appearances for the La Liga side who concluded on the 16th spot.

The 2024/25 campaign had the Argentine move to Como on loan. Whilst he recorded slightly less appearances, 26 due to an injury, Perrone accumulated more minutes than his previous loan spell.

Perrone recorded three (3) assists in Como’s Serie A league fight which saw them place 10th. His tenacity, versatility and ability to study the game rated him high before Head Coach Cesc Fabregas and will now see Perrone link up with Como on a permanent deal.

His transfer is subject to international clearance.

According to the Club’s official website, Perrone said: “My time at Manchester City has come to an end but I’d like to thank everyone at the Club for their support and guidance during my invaluable time at the CFA.

“I am excited for this new adventure and I wish Pep Guardiola and the players every success in the future.”
