Obama ‘heartbroken’ after death toll from Texas flooding exceed 60

Death toll following the flooding in Central Texas has risen above sixty (60).

Former United States (US) President, Barack Obama, who extended his prayers alongside his wife, Michelle, to everyone “who has lost a loved one or waiting for news”, described the unfortunate occurrence as “absolutely heartbreaking”.

Obama wrote on X: “The flash flooding in Central Texas is absolutely heartbreaking. Michelle and I are praying for everyone who has lost a loved one or is waiting for news — especially the parents.

“And we’re grateful to the first responders and rescue teams working around the clock to help.”

Authorities are still working to find victims of yesterday’s flash flooding in central Texas, including twenty-seven (27) people from Camp Mystic, a girls’ summer camp in Kerr County.

Governor Greg Abbott made known the focus of the State remains on a “relentless” search for survivors as floodwaters recede in some areas.
