Moghalu to depart role as President and Vice Chancellor of ASG

Kingsley Moghalu has announced, he will depart his role as President and Vice Chancellor of African School of Governance (ASG).

Moghalu was appointed to head the ASG nine (9) months ago.

Taking to his official X account, Moghalu made known: “After several months of toiling in the vineyard of a historic assignment, I will be departing from my role as President & Vice-Chancellor @ASG_Africa , a new graduate-level university established to drive improvements in governance in Africa by current and future leaders.

“Starting from nothing but the vision of its founders, the ASG under my leadership achieved much in a record 9 months since my appointment as its President: working with a world-class executive management team, we have established ASG operationally as a pan-African institution,

“with operational and academic management systems fully in place; a solid bench of faculty and the inaugural student cohort for the MPA program have been recruited to start in September; We concluded the ASG President’s Africa Tour of six countries in four sub-regions of the

“continent with more than 60 meetings with senior government ministers, diplomatic representatives, private sector executives, civic leaders and academic institutions and students to promote ASG; we executed with great success our inaugural executive education program Transforming

“Countries: Becoming the Leader Your Country Needs” from 8-10 July, with a cohort of 20 African leaders – former prime ministers, chief justices, Speakers of Parliament and parliamentarians, serving & former government cabinet ministers, and senior private sector leaders- from 15

“countries; the brand positioning and public awareness of the ASG has moved steadily on an upward trajectory; strategic partnerships have been negotiated and are in the pipeline.

“However, there have been challenges regarding corporate governance, and institutional and academic independence. These remain indispensable requirements for the institution to ultimately succeed.

“I wish ASG continued success.”
