Jamaican-born actor, Michael Ward, famous for his roles in shows and films including Top Boy, Small Axe and Blue Story, has been charged with rape.
According to Metropolitan Police, 27-year old Ward from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, is charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
Ward said, “I deny the charges against me entirely”, the actor added, that he had co-operated with police completely all through their investigation and had full faith it would result to his name being cleared.
The offences alleged are related to a woman and are reported to have happened in January 2023, according to the Police Force.
Michael Ward gained his fame as one of the stars of cult hit Blue Story in 2019, and carted the Rising Star prize at the Bafta Film Awards the next year.
Ward also featured in acclaimed 2022 drama Empire of Light, and will be seen in forthcoming US pandemic-era Western movie Eddington, which is set to be released in the UK on 22 August.
