On his official visit to Nigeria, Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, aims to build “strong ties” with Africa.
The London Mayor who arrived in Lagos is the “first Mayor of London to lead a trade mission to Africa”; he will visit four African cities in five days.
Khan posted on X: “I’m delighted to be the first Mayor of London to lead a trade mission to Africa.
“I’ll be visiting four cities in five days, promoting trade and investment opportunities across key sectors including finance, education, health, tech, creative and sustainability.
“We’ll work to deepen the capital’s strong ties with Africa, and celebrate our shared heritage, history and culture with the African continent – as we build a better and fairer London for everyone.”
Khan said, London and Lagos are among the “most culturally dynamic cities in the world.”
He describe Lagos’ creative energy as “unmatched” as he met with Nollywood legends and Afrobeats giants.
Khan met with Mo Abudu at EbonyLife Place where they celebrated cultural connection between London and Nigeria.
Mayor Khan posted on X: “London and Lagos are two of the most culturally dynamic cities in the world.
“Fantastic to see Nike Art Gallery while in Lagos, a hub for preserving Nigeria’s rich artistic heritage and empowering a new generation of creatives.
“From Nollywood legends to Afrobeats giants, Lagos’ creative energy is unmatched.
“Last night, I joined Mo Abudu at EbonyLife Place to celebrate the global talent and cultural connection between London and Nigeria.
“These connections matter, and they’re growing stronger.”
