Leeds United sign Brazillian goalkeeper, Lucas Perri

Leeds United, newly promoted, have confirmed the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who departs from French Ligue 1 side Lyon subject to a work permit and international clearance.

27-year-old Perri has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Peacocks, emerging the seventh confirmed summer signing for Daniel Farke’s side.

The goalkeeper arrives at Elland Road following a beautiful season with Lyon, where he fielded in 45 matches across all competitions and recorded 13 clean sheets on the way to helping OL qualify for European football.

Commencing his career with Brazilian giants São Paulo, Perri recorded nine (9) appearances in the first team, whilst also gained more experience on loan with Clube Náutico Capibaribe.

Interest in the shot stopper from European clubs then resulted to a move to Lyon. As well as gaining top level experience in France, he has also featured for the club in the UEFA Europa League in their run to last campaign’s quarter-final, alongside being a runner-up in the 2024 Coupe de France.

On the international side, Perri has earned caps at both U20 and U23 level, whilst was called up to the senior squad for the first time in September 2023.

Perri will now help strengthen the goalkeeping section for the Peacocks as the Premier League 2025/26 opener against Everton draws nigh.
