‘I remain committed to upholding the rule of law’ – Okpebholo

Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, has come out to affirm his commitment to upholding the rule of law.

The Governor made the statement as he received the Chief Judge of Edo State and other esteemed judges of the Edo State Judiciary.

Okpebholo’s statement is coming some days after he threatened the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, not to visit the South-South State.

The threat from the Governor to Obi, which raised mixed reactions, came on the 64th birthday of the former Governor of Anambra State.

Following the threat, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, warned, “a threat against Peter Obi is a threat against all”.

Governor Okpebholo posted on X: “I received in courtesy the Chief Judge of Edo State and other esteemed judges of the Edo State Judiciary.

“We discussed ways to strengthen the justice system, improve judicial infrastructure, and deepen collaboration between the Executive and the Judiciary for a more effective, people-centered governance.

“I remain committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is accessible to every citizen of our great state.”
