Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer to stand for re-election

German Club, Bayern Munich, has announced, it will hold its eV Annual General Meeting 2025 on the weekend of 31 October to 2 November.

The precise date and time will be announced once the DFL have scheduled fixture for Bayern Munich at home to Bayer Leverkusen that weekend.

Prior to the meeting, Herbert Hainer, President of the Club, will once bring himself forward for re-election at the meeting of the advisory board on 5 September.

The assessment and nomination of candidates for the executive board in accordance with the club’s articles of association is carried out by the Advisory Board.

Hainer succeeded Uli Hoeneß at the 2019 Annual General Meeting. He has been a member of the AG supervisory board of Bayern Munich since 2002.

Professor Dr Dieter Mayer, Senior Vice-President, and Walter Mennekes, Junior Vice-President, will also stand alongside Hainer for re-election.

According to the Club’s official website, President Hainer said: “It’s an honour for me to be president of FC Bayern, and I would be delighted if the advisory board were to nominate me as a candidate again.

“I stood in the stands as a fan even as a young boy. I feel it’s a great responsibility for all of us to continuously develop this club with its unique fan community together so that everyone can be proud of our FC Bayern.

“It’s about passion, courage, clarity and togetherness. I’ve always said that I want to be the president for everyone. Dialogue is important to me, and the club has also set standards in this area in recent years.

“In our 125th year, we currently have 410,000 members – that speaks for itself. FC Bayern should be a home for everyone. That’s what our executive committee stands for – now and in the future.”
