A shooting that happened in a rural area of Northern Ireland has left two people dead and two others terribly wounded, police said on Wednesday.
In a post on social media, Police didn’t specify a possible motive. However, Jemma Dolan, a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly from the area, tagged it “a domestic incident”
According to the Police Service of Northern Ireland, there was no ongoing risk to the public from the shooting outside the village of Maguiresbridge, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) southwest of Belfast.
The Police and Paramedics received a call to an address in the village on Wednesday morning.
The ambulance service revealed, the wounded victims were being attended to medically in two hospitals for severe injuries.
Local lawmaker, Deborah Erskine, said that the community was “stunned” by the shooting in “a rural, quiet area.”
Erskine said, “Everyone is deeply affected by what has happened this morning.
“My deepest condolences are with the families of those who have been killed as a result of this incident. Their lives have been turned upside down this morning.”
