United Kingdom: Eight arrested after 19 year old st*bbed to death

Eight (8) people have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in a fight outside a shop in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.

On Friday afternoon, Police were called to Loughrigg Street, off Newton Street in West Bowling, over reports of some men fighting with knives.

Two other men, aged 24 and 27, sustained stab wounds, while the victim died on the spot, Police disclosed.

Three of those arrested, two aged twenty-four (24) and one aged eighteen (18) are being interrogated on suspicion of murder.

On suspicion of affray, two 27-year-old men and two men, aged 24 and 26, have been arrested, West Yorkshire Police disclosed.

Police further disclosed, a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

One of the 27-year olds arrested on suspicion of affray remains in a critical condition in hospital after receiving a stab wound to the chest.

The area has been sealed for forensic examination and specialist searches to be carried out.

The man, 24, arrested on suspicion of murder, sustained a stab wound to the arm, however, it is considered as serious.

“Our investigation remains at an early stage, and we are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to build up a complete picture of the circumstances in which this young man has tragically lost his life”, Senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Dan Bates said.

Bates added: “”We have specially trained officers working to support this young man’s family at what is clearly a really difficult time for them.

We are grateful to all those in the community who have come forward with information to assist the investigation and we continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any relevant CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact us.”
