Uefa Champion League 2024/25 (Final): PSG 5-0 Inter – Les Parisiens ‘deserve to win, they were better than us’ – Inzaghi

Head Coach of Serie A side, Inter, Simone Inzaghi, has hailed French Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), following their Uefa Champions League triumph on Saturday night in Germany.

The Italian manager said, PSG “deserved to win”, confessing, “they were better than us.”

Luis Enrique’s PSG humiliated their Italian opponents, Inter, in the final of the Uefa Champions League by a whopping five (5) goals to nil (0) at Munich Football Arena, Munich, Germany on Saturday 31 May, 2025.

Defender, Achraf Hakimi, opened scoring for the Ligue 1 2024/25 Kings, Desire Doue netted a brace, Georgian winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and S. Mayulu netted one each, to help PSG clinch their first ever Uefa Champions League title.

The 2024/25 season finished perfectly well for Luis Enrique who clinched a treble – Coupe De France 2024/25, Ligue 1 2024/25 and the Uefa Champions League 2024/25.

According to the club’s official website, in his post-defeat comments, Inter manager, Inzaghi, said: “I’m proud of these guys for what they’ve achieved on this journey. Tonight, PSG deserved to win the Champions League – they were better than us. We approached the game poorly, became stretched and made their victory easier.

“For us, this is a tough loss. Credit to our opponents, but we didn’t play a great final. That said, I’ve thanked the players for this season, and I’m proud to be their coach. It’s disappointing, but it doesn’t erase what we’ve done.

“We needed to do better tonight – me first and foremost – but the lads have been incredible this season. This group deserves praise. In the coming days, there will be a meeting with the Club and we’ll talk.

“After a defeat in a final, there’s too much bitterness to think clearly. The Club was close to us tonight and feels the same disappointment as we do, but it has always been very supportive.

“Technically, we didn’t play like we know we can. They were winning second balls, and, after conceding the first goal, we became stretched, leading to this defeat.

“Tonight, we conceded goals that we don’t normally allow. Frattesi deserved to play a part in this final, but we were already down by three goals when I decided to send on Zalewski and Asllani, and I preferred not to put him on the pitch.”

PSG’s 5-0 win over Inter on Saturday night has now become the final with the widest margin in the history of the Uefa Champions League. This solidifies PSG as a dominant force in European Football, massive thanks to Spanish manager, Luis Enrique, for the beautiful transformation.

HC: Inter is supposed to be a highly defensive team?! They really showed a lot of resilience and strength against a young Barcelona. So, what happened against PSG?
