‘Tinubu a rare leader with vision and wisdom’ – Governor Eno says after welcomed officially into APC

Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has hailed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the President as “a rare leader with vision and wisdom'”.

The Governor made the remark at his official reception into the fold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uyo.

Eno was welcomed into the ‘Broom’ Party by the National Chairman of the Party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON; Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Governors under the APC; as well as, members of the National Assembly (NASS), at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The Governor said, the President’s “words” got him encouraged to make the defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), also made him to think towards achieving more for the people of the South-South State.

He described his defection to the governing Party “political move” and a “bold, progressive step made in enlightened State interest”.

Eno said, his ARISE Agenda will always be his “guiding light”, as he expressed his gratitude to the “thousands of supporters who have stood with me”.

Taking to his official X account, Governor Eno said: “I was officially received into the All Progressives Congress (APC) by our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who described me as a rare leader with vision and wisdom, words that deeply encourage me to do more for our people.

“Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the grand reception in Uyo, Mr. President assured me that my decision to align Akwa Ibom with the Centre will bring more dividends of democracy to our dear State.

“This is not just a political move, it’s a bold, progressive step made in enlightened State interest, and I’m thankful to the thousands of supporters who have stood with me.

“Our ARISE Agenda remains our guiding light as we walk this new path together.”

Eno joins Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, as sitting Governors under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to dump the ‘Umbrella’ Party for APC.

Governor Eno further said: “I appreciate the leadership of our Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and all APC stakeholders who welcomed us warmly and pledged full support to Akwa Ibom’s future.

“With unity, faith, and purpose, we will pursue key projects like the long-awaited Deep Seaport and expand development across all 31 LGAs.

“I’m especially grateful for President Tinubu’s commitment to subnational development, which has empowered us to fund life-changing projects.

“As I lead our people into this new season, I do so with courage, humility, and a deep resolve to move Akwa Ibom forward, ever and backward—never!”
