Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has expressed “deep appreciation” to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for directing accelerated design on the 4th Legacy Project of the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi and Gombe corridor.
The Governor said, this move by the President will ensure procurement for the project commences.
Following his “heart-to-heart” conversation with President Tinubu, Mutfwang said, this crucial corridor which serves as an entrance to the North East, will encourage economic activities, as well as, improve standard of living.
Also, Mutfwang did not hesitate to commend the Federal Government for the quick reconstruction of the collapsed bridge connecting Shendam LGA to surrounding communities and Taraba State.
Governor Mutfwang said: “I had the privilege of a heart-to-heart discussion with H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the state of our nation.
“I also expressed deep appreciation for directing accelerated design on the 4th Legacy Project of the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi and Gombe corridor to enable procurement commence.
“This crucial corridor, which serves as a gateway to the North East, will stimulate economic activities and uplift living standards.
“I equally commended the Federal Government for the swift reconstruction of the collapsed bridge linking Shendam LGA to surrounding communities and Taraba State.”
The Governor made known, his administration is working towards ensuring that, there is improvement in road infrastructure and welfare of citizens.
Governor Mutfwang further said: “We are working towards sustained improvement in road infrastructure, citizen welfare, and national security.”
This is coming after the Governor said, for the Nigerian system to function “effectively”, we must have “people of conscience across the arms of government”.
He made the statement while receiving executives and members of the Haggai Institute, Plateau State Chapter, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Jos.
Mutfwang expressed his worries “over the erosion of societal values, particularly among the youth, lamenting the rise of get-rich-quick ideologies that diminish the value of education and honest labour.”
He said, “They are not a nuisance. They are victims of a broken system.”
