National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, alongside, Vice President, Kashim Shettima, received, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, into the APC officially on Saturday 21 June, 2025.
The welcome event which took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, also had Governors under the ‘Broom’ Party in attendance; and members of the National Assembly.
Eno became another sitting Governor under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to defect to the APC, after Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, who pulled along with him the State’s Deputy Governor and all PDP members of the State.
The Akwa Ibom Governor said, he made the defection to properly align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the prosperity of the South-South State.
