Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has announced, his administration has successfully completed sixteen (16) out of twenty-two (22) road projects which were initiated in the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area (LGA) since 2019.

The Governor said, one of these completed roads include the recently commissioned Awokoya Road and Igbeba-Talbot-Yidi Lane.

He said, these road projects were “prioritized” to tackle “severe flooding, erosion, and loss of lives, especially along Yidi Road.”

Abiodun said, he was able to execute and complete these projects after taking office and carrying out assessment of the “urgent needs” of Ijebu-Ode LGA.

Governor Abiodun made known: “We have completed 16 out of 22 road projects initiated in Ijebu-Ode since 2019, including the newly commissioned Awokoya Road and Igbeba–Yidi Lane. These projects were prioritized to address severe flooding, erosion, and loss of lives, especially along Yidi Road. Our visit to Ijebu-Ode shortly after taking office helped us assess the urgent needs, and we are proud to be delivering on our promises.”

The Governor said, these developments show his administration’s “commitment to equitable infrastructure across Ogun State under the ISEYA agenda.”

He added, his government is positioning Ogun State “as a leader in all-round development”, with achievements in culture, tourism and sports, particularly the successfully recently hosted 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF).

Governor Abiodun said: “These developments reflect our commitment to equitable infrastructure across Ogun State under the ISEYA agenda. With achievements in sports, culture, and tourism—especially the successful National Sports Festival and the upcoming international-standard Ojude Oba Festival—we are positioning Ogun State as a leader in all-round development.”

Ogun State hosted the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged, ‘Gateway Games 2024’, which had Team Delta emerge winners with 337 medal in total, while the host State, Team Ogun, emerged second.
