Dean Huijsen has been unveiled as a new Real Madrid player. The unveiling took place at Real Madrid City and began with a video showing the young footballer’s career.
According to the Club’s official website, Real Madrid President, Florentino Pérez, said: “Today is another special day for Real Madrid fans, as we are about to set off for the United States to take on our next big challenge: the FIFA Club World Cup.”
Perez continued: “We have a great team with players who have marked an era and allowed us to experience moments that are now part of the history of our club and the history of football.
“And we want to continue building together on the path we inherited from the great figures of Real Madrid throughout our history, with great talent and exceptional players who will help us continue to enhance the legend of the most beloved, admired, and successful club in the world.
“That is why we madridistas are so happy today. Because one of those great players who burst onto the football scene with the strength to inspire us for many years to come has joined our club.
“Today, we welcome Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid.”
Dean Huijsen expressed happiness after joining the “best” football club. He said, “I didn’t consider any other team. I’m joining the best club in the world, and I’m here to give my all”.
According to the Club’s official website, Huijsen said: “I want to thank the president and the club for their trust. I’ve wanted to be here since day one, since they called me, I didn’t consider any other team.
“I’m joining the best club in the world, and I’m here to give my all. I’m going to work as hard as I can and remain humble. Hopefully, we can win lots of trophies together, starting with the Club World Cup.
“Madrid is the club of my life, and I hope to be here for many years to come. Hala Madrid.”
In his statement for Huijsen’s family, President Perez said: “Dear Dean, welcome to Real Madrid. From today, this will be your new home because that is what you wanted.
“You have chosen to defend this badge and this shirt because that has been your dream since you were a child, as we have just seen in those images that will have been particularly emotional for your family: your parents and your siblings, who are here with you today on one of the most important days of your life.
“They know how hard you have worked and all the sacrifices you have had to make to become, at the age of 20, one of the world’s greatest centre-backs.”
The Los Blancos President alerted Huijsen of how hard he has to work to really be successful at Santiago Bernabeu, adding, fans will demand a lot from him, as well as, give him all the love and support.
Perez said: “The values of this shirt will make you feel from the very first moment that here, no one gives up until the last second of every game. That is what our fans will ask of you, and they will also get behind you until that last breath. Dear Dean, welcome home, welcome to Real Madrid.”
