Lobi Stars Football Club finished the 2024/25 season with the “longest winless run”, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) records.
The Alia Boys, who have been relegated from the Nigerian top flight, finished on the 20th spot (last), accumulating only twenty-eight (28) points after thirty-eight (38) encounters.
After 38 matches, Lobi Stars were able to win only six (6), recorded ten (10) draws and twenty-two (22) losses.
According to the NPFL: “Relegated Lobi Stars finished the campaign with the longest winless run, spanning 156 calendar days, in which they failed to win in 20 matches.”
Remo Stars emerged Champions of the NPFL 2024/25; it was the Ikenne, Ogun State based club’s first ever trophy in fifteen (15) years since its creation.
The Sky Blue Stars amassed seventy-one (71) points to finish winners of the League, trailed by Finidi George’s Rivers United, who finished with sixty-four (64) points.
The four (4) teams relegated from the NPFL at the conclusion of the 2024/2025 season are Lobi Stars, Heartland FC (Owerri, Imo State), Akwa United (Uyo, Akwa Ibom State)and Sunshine Stars (Akure, Ondo State).
