The summer break for players of Manchester United is almost over, with the return date for training for pre-season very close.
Portuguese head coach, Ruben Amorim’s Reds finished off the 2024/25 campaign with a 2-0 home triumph over Aston Villa at Old Trafford, before heading on a two-game tour of Asia for friendlies in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The 3-1 win over Hong Kong in China was the last time Manchester United fielded.
Following last week’s release of the Premier League fixture list, Manchester United will kick off the 2025/26 Season with a showdown against Arsenal, and Amorim would certainly be hoping to start the campaign with a win after a disappointing outing last season.
With the £50 million revamp of Manchester United training centre, Carrington, almost over, the facility will feature a world-class base to help build the right environment, in order to generate future success.
The first pre-season encounter will be the meeting with Leeds United in Stockholm, on 19 July, with the players set to find their way back into the groove ahead of the squad being released for the trip to Sweden.
Surely, new addition, Matheus Cunha, will have the chance to get familiar with his new teammates, following his transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen departed Old Trafford after the Villa game.
