Nick Cox, Manchester United Director of Academy, has parted ways with the Reds for a Technical Director role at Everton Football Club.
Cox moved to Old Trafford in 2016 and was elevated to Director of Academy in 2019.
Nick exits the Old Trafford as Manchester United expressed its gratitude and appreciation for his immense contribution to helping the succession of players who graduated from the Academy.
During this time, thirty-five (35) players achieved first-team debuts and the Academy’s reputation as one of the most constructive youth development systems in the world was further improved.
Nick also bred an outlandish culture of excellence which made sure that every child engaged within the Academy was guaranteed a remarkable and motivating education through football.
This conception has resulted to countless young people maximise their potential and enjoy a series of life enriching experiences alongside elite technical development.
According to the club’s official website, Nick Cox said: “Youth development is an important part of the lifeblood of this club, having the responsibility of supporting this generation of young people and staff to ensure that the system continues to thrive has been an immense privilege.
“Working alongside some of the most talented and dedicated youth developers in the world has been a huge honour. There are countless individuals behind the scenes who play a vital role in supporting our young players to maximise their potential.
“I will be forever grateful for their support and know they will ensure that the Academy continues to go from strength to strength as the club enters an exciting new era.”
Jason Wilcox, Manchester United Director of Football, said: “Nick has made a huge contribution to Manchester United over the past nine years. I was already well aware of his qualities before I arrived at the club and have really enjoyed working together.
“We wish him well for the next stage of his career.”
