Bukola Saraki, 13th President of the Nigerian Senate, has sent his greetings to Duoye Diri as the Governor of Bayelsa State marks his 66th birthday today, Wednesday 4 June, 2025.
Diri who marks his birthday “without fanfare”, expressed his gratitude to God after adding 365 days, saying, “I return all Glory to the Almighty God for His Mercies, Grace, Love and Protection over me and my entire family”.
Saraki hailed Diri saying, the Governor understands “what it means to lead with calm, strength, and a deep sense of purpose”, adding, “even in the toughest moments, he puts Bayelsa State first”.
Duoye was born on 4 June, 1959; he has been serving as Governor of Bayelsa State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), since 2020.
He also served as senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District from 2019 to 2020 in the 9th National Assembly.
The former Senate President prayed, “the Almighty grants him the wisdom to navigate the complexities of leadership, the strength to continue serving with integrity for the good people of Bayelsa.”
In his birthday message to Governor Diri, Saraki wrote: “Governor Douye Diri has shown, time and again, what it means to lead with calm, strength, and a deep sense of purpose. Even in the toughest moments, he remains steady—putting Bayelsa State first, always with heart and conviction.
“As he celebrates his birthday today, I pray the Almighty grants him the wisdom to navigate the complexities of leadership, the strength to continue serving with integrity, and the grace to remain a unifying figure for the good people of Bayelsa.
“Happy birthday, Your Excellency.”
