Enugu State: Chioma Uzodimma join First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to present 10,000 professional kits to midwives across S/East Geo Zone

First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Uzodimma, in Enugu State, joined her “sisters”, the Renewed Hope Initiative State Coordinators, to welcome the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for the presentation of 10,000 professional kits to midwives across the South East Geopolitical Zone.

During her visit to traditional rulers in the Southeastern State, the First Lady told the Leaders, that, they are “the eyes and ears of government at the grassroots level.”

The First Lady pleaded with the traditional rulers to “align with her vision of promoting the health and wellbeing of their subjects by supporting her advocacy campaigns against cervical cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Female Genital Mutilation.”

In his remarks, Executive Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, tagged Senator Oluremi Tinubu “the Florence Nightingale of our time”, as he acknowledged “her exceptional responsiveness to pressing health issues”, as well as, “lauding President Tinubu’s dedication to healthcare advancement”.

The First Lady’s visit also featured the presentation of a N50 million Business Re-capitalization Grant to 1,000 women petty traders in Enugu State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Imo State First Lady, Chioma Uzodimma, said: “In Enugu, I joined my sisters, the Renewed Hope Initiative State Coordinators, to welcome Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the presentation of 10,000 professional kits.

“(comprising scrubs and Crocs) to midwives across the South East Geopolitical Zone.

“During her courtesy visit to traditional rulers in Enugu State, on the sideline of the two day working visit to the state, Her Excellency described the traditional rulers as the eyes and ears

“of government at the grassroots level. She appealed to them to align with her vision of promoting the health and wellbeing of their subjects by supporting her advocacy campaigns against cervical cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Female Genital Mutilation.

“At the venue for the presentation of professional kits to midwives in the South East Geopolitical Zone, the First Lady expressed satisfaction at concluding the nationwide distribution of scrubs and Crocs across all six geopolitical zones,

“with Enugu marking the completion of this exercise.

“In his remarks, His Excellency Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, commended the First Lady as the Florence Nightingale of our time, acknowledging her exceptional responsiveness to pressing health issues

“and lauding President Tinubu’s dedication to healthcare advancement.

“The visit also featured the presentation of a N50 million Business Re-capitalization Grant to 1,000 women petty traders in Enugu State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).”
