Governor Eno is joining the governing Party few weeks after Governor of Delta State, Oborevwori, dumped the ‘Umbrella’ Party for APC.

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), with his Deputy; former Governor of Delta State and 2023 PDP Vice Presidential candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa; alongside all PDP members of the South-South State, to the APC.

“Governor Umo Eno’s decision to join the APC is not only timely, it is a strategic move that will foster greater synergy with the Federal Government and unlock more social and economic opportunities for the accelerated development of Akwa Ibom State.

“President Bola Tinubu’s bold and unprecedented policy reforms implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to draw massive appeal among leaders and people of the South-South region who are keen to work with Mr. President and our great party for the full actualization of the Agenda for the progress of region and the country.

“The zonal leadership assures Governor Eno and his teeming followers of its fullest cooperation towards delivery of improved governance, dividends of democracy, and a massive electoral victory in the zone in 2027.”

Governor Eno said, his decision to defect to the APC was propelled by “enlightened state interest”, adding, there is the “need to align Akwa Ibom State with the Federal Government” in order to bring “more development and opportunities for our people”.
