Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Senator Nenadi Usman Ph.D, has sent “warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations” to all Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the world as they mark Eid-al-adha.
Senator Usman said, “this sacred festival is a powerful reminder of the unwavering faith, obedience, and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who submitted wholly to the will of Almighty Allah.”
She preached, “these timeless virtues lie at the heart of Eid al-Adha” matter more than the celebrations, saying, “Eid is a time for God-consciousness, selflessness, and renewed spiritual devotion”.
In her Eid-al-adha message, Senator Usman wrote: “As the Ummah across Nigeria and around the world marks the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I extend warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all our Muslim brothers and sisters.
“This sacred festival is a powerful reminder of the unwavering faith, obedience, and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who submitted wholly to the will of Almighty Allah. These timeless virtues lie at the heart of Eid al-Adha, and I urge us all to reflect sincerely on their meaning in our individual lives and our collective journey as a nation.
“Beyond the celebrations, Eid is a time for God-consciousness, selflessness, and renewed spiritual devotion. It is an opportunity to draw closer to Allah (SWT), seek His mercy, and renew our commitment to serving humanity with compassion and humility.”
Senato Usman said, the season of Eid-al-adha calls us heighten our “empathy, love and generosity” especially at this time when Nigeria is battling “insecurity, economic hardship, and hunger to rising ethno-religious divisions”.
She called on the leaders and those making policies to also “rise to the moment”, saying, “the teachings of Islam emphasize justice, equity, and care for the vulnerable.”
She prayed, “that Allah (SWT) accepts our acts of worship, grants us peace in our hearts and in our nation, and guides us on the straight path.”
Senator Usman further wrote: “At a time when our country is facing serious challenges, from insecurity, economic hardship, and hunger to rising ethno-religious divisions, this season calls for increased empathy, love and generosity.
“Our leaders and policymakers must also rise to the moment. The teachings of Islam emphasize justice, equity, and care for the vulnerable. It is our collective duty to alleviate the suffering of our people and work toward a just and peaceful society.
“As we observe this festival, I pray that Allah (SWT) accepts our acts of worship, grants us peace in our hearts and in our nation, and guides us on the straight path.
“Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones. May it be a celebration filled with blessings, modesty, and divine mercy.”
