President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after observing his Sallah holiday in Lagos.
The President who arrived in Lagos for the Eid-al-adha, started by attending the Golden Jubilee of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where he made known the economic milestones of the Bloc to fellow West African Leaders at the event.
At the event in Victoria Island, Lagos, only surviving founding father of ECOWAS, Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, expressed sadness following the exit of Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali from the Bloc.
ECOWAS was established on 28 May, 1975; it is Headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria; and Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, as its Chairman.
From the ECOWAS 50th anniversary celebration, President Tinubu headed out to commission several projects in Lagos State.
President Tinubu commissioned the completed section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway.
He also commissioned the Lekki Deep Sea Port Access Road at the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Plant on Thursday in Lekki, Lagos State, where he visited the Refinery for the first time.
The President expressed gratitude to Aliko Dangote “for his interest in developing the country through continuous investments.”
In his remark, Aliko Dangote thanked the President “for envisioning and implementing the Lekki Deep Sea Port project and assured him of the private sector’s support for expanding infrastructure nationwide.”
At the commissioning of the Road leading to Dangote Refinery, President Tinubu called on Governors to work with his administration to achieve the “same development goal”.
President Bola Tinubu was welcomed back to Abuja by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on Tuesday 10 June, 2025.
