Eid-Al-Adha 2025: ‘May we be inspired to serve humanity with compassion’ – Abure

Barr. Julius Abure, who has been relieved of his duties as National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), however, claims he still holds the office, has sent his Eid-al-adha message to all Muslim Nigerians, saying, “may this occasion inspire us to serve humanity with compassion.”

Abure has been replaced with Senator Nenadi Usman, who is now the Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

He preached, “let the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion resonate deeply within us as we celebrated Eid-al-adha.”

Barr. Julius Abure made known his Sallah message to all Muslim Nigerians via a statement signed by himself on Friday 6 June, 2025.

The Statement reads: “As we celebrate Eid-al-Adha, let the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion resonate deeply within us.

“For Labour Party faithful, these virtues align with our commitment to serving the people and building a better Nigeria.

“May this occasion inspire us to:

• Stand for justice and equality

• Serve humanity with compassion

• Uphold integrity and accountability.

“May the lessons of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith guide us in our pursuit of a more just and equitable society.

“Wishing all Muslim Nigerians a blessed Eid-al-Adha, may your celebrations be filled with joy, love, and peace.”

In the Labour Party Leadership Tussle, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Presidential candidate of the ‘Papa, Mama and Pikin’ Party, Peter Obi, alongside current Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, were at the Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to formally present the Supreme Court veridct which affirmed Senator Nenadi Usman as Acting Chairperson of the Party.

Obi and Otti’s decision to proceed to INEC was made after the Party held its National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting in April.

Obi urged “every Nigerian to stay hopeful and stay engaged.”
