Chelsea star, Cole Palmer, nominated for PFA Players’ Player of the Year award

English attacking midfielder, Cole Palmer, was extremely vital for Chelsea all through the 2024/25 season, and this has earned him recognition from his fellow players in the fashion of a nomination for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

The Englishman, who clinched the Young Player of the Year prize last year, enjoyed another outstanding campaign in blue.

Palmer scored fifteen (15) times in the Premier League and laid on eight more as Enzo Maresca’s Blues finished in fourth place, securing Uefa Champions League football for next season in the process.

The midfielder was essential to Chelsea’s success on the continent.

The 23-year-old continued from where he left off the last campaign with a succession of a stunning goals and beautiful displays.

Palmer’s heroic assist was well converted by Argentine midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, to level for the English side after Real Betis had gone in front in the Uefa Europa Conference League 2024/25 final in Poland on Wednesday 28 May, 2025.

Fernandez’ leveller inspired trio, Nicholas Jackson, Jadon Sancho and Moses Caicedo to find one each and help the Blues emerge the first team in Europe to clinch all three major European trophies – Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Palmer is joined on the six-player shortlist by Alexander Isak (Newcastle United), Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Declan Rice (Arsenal) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).

Whoever emerges winner will be announced on 19 August at the PFA Awards in Manchester.
