Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Ahmed Musa, has reacted following the “senseless” killings in Benue State which happened on Saturday.
The former Saudi Professional League club, Al Nassr, player, asked, “How many more lives must be lost before real action is taken?”
More than 100 people were “slain” including, women, children, displaced persons and soldiers, in the most recent attacks in the North Central State.
Musa described the Saturday attacks in Benue State as “another wave of heartbreaking killings”, saying, “we can’t keep condemning violence and then moving on”.
The Kano Pillars forward called on the government for “consistent action, not seasonal appearances.”
President Bola Tinubu expressed his disgust following the “wanton killings”, saying, “enough is now enough”; the President will take a trip to Benue State to see the situation of things by himself after rescheduling his official visit to Kaduna State.
Taking to his official X account, In his reaction, Ahmed Musa said: “Another wave of heartbreaking killings in Benue.
“How many more lives must be lost before real action is taken? We can’t keep condemning violence and then moving on.
“Don’t wait until it happens close to home or to someone you know — speak out now. To our leaders: governance is not just for election season. We need consistent action, not seasonal appearances.
“We demand more. We deserve better.Benue deserves peace. Nigeria deserves better.
“Sincere condolences to those who lost their lives in the process and to their families, may Allah grant you the fortitude to bear the loss.”
