Bayern Munich: Leroy Sane part ways with Bavarians

German winger, Leroy Sane, has announced his exit from Bayern Munich.

Sane told Bayern fans, he has made the decision to start a “new chapter” in the 2025/26 season after spending five (5) “intense years” with the new German Champions.

Leroy Sane helped Bayern Munich to reclaim the crown from Bayer Leverkusen after the Vincent Kompany-led Bavarians emerged Bundesliga 2024/25 Champions.

Sane said, he is “incredibly proud” to have flaunted the Bayern Munich jersey, a club he described as “the best and biggest club in Germany”.

The Germany international fielded for Bayern Munich more than 200 times and clinched several titles with the Club.

He expressed his gratitude to the club, the coaching staff, his teammates, everyone behind the scenes and the fans “for the time we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made”.

In his letter via his official X account, Leroy Sane wrote: “Dear Bayern fans,

“after 5 intense years here in Munich, I’ve decided to start a new chapter in the upcoming season. I’m incredibly proud to have worn the jersey of the best and biggest club in Germany for over 200 matches and will always cherish the titles we’ve won together.

“Thank you to the club, the coaching staff, everyone behind the scenes, my teammates, and especially you, the fans, for the time we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made. I will forever be grateful for my time here at @FCBayern!

With Bayern Munich, Sane won four (4) Bundesliga titles (2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2024/25); two (2) DFL-Supercup (2021, 2022); Uefa Super Cup (2020); and FIFA Club World Cup (2020).

He joined Bayern Munich in 2020 from English Premier League club, Manchester City; Sane recorded more than 150 appearances for the German club, and netted forty (40) goals.
