‘Young talented players feel they have to travel to be seen because our home league is not good’ – Brown Ideye

Former Super Eagles of Nigeria, Brown Ideye, said, “young talented players” are working so hard “to travel out to be seen”, simply because our home league is not “good”.

Ideye who currently fields for Enyimba said, it is “so sad, they see the desperation in you and took advantage of it.”

The former Göztepe player also complained about poor facilities which are needed to develop football in the country, saying, “we only have one good standard stadium that you can enjoy football in this country”.

Brown Ideye said: “So sad, they see the desperation in you and took advantage of it. Tell me if our home league is good why young talented players will feel they have to travel out to be seen. We only have one good standard stadium that you can enjoy football in this country. So they will never think they have a future by starting from home.”

Ideye alongside John Obi Mikel were in the Super Eagles team led by Late Stephen Keshi that lifted the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in 2013.
