Uefa Europa League 2024/25 (Final): Tottenham V Manchester United – Amorim gives injury update

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, said, his injured players are working really hard to regain fitness ahead of the Uefa Europa League final.

Manchester United will lock horns with fellow Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur, in the final of the Uefa Europa League at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao on 21 May, 2025 at 20:00 (WAT).

Just a week to the big showdown, the Portuguese manager held a Uefa press conference at Old Trafford to preview the match in Spain.

Whoever wins between both sides is guaranteed a spot in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 – that’s how big the clash is.

While Jonny Evans, Diogo Dalot and Toby Collyer were seen at the Carrington Training Centre, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven and Matthijs de Ligt were missing.

According to manutd.com, Amorim said: when asked about the missing players in training, “I don’t know if they are going to be available.”

He continued: “We are going to try to push because it’s the final matches and this is a final, you know that. All the players want to play that really bad. I don’t know, I think they will not go to Chelsea [on Friday], but we will have a possibility to have some of them for the final.

“Dalot is trying really bad. I don’t want to risk Dalot because, when you start getting one injury, second injury [follows] and it’s a big thing. We cannot have these kinds of problems in our squad. So, we will see, but he’s working really hard to get in the final.”

Yoro was pulled out during Sunday’s Premier League encounter against West Ham United and looked visibly upset as he made his way off the pitch and down the tunnel.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur knocked out Athletic Club and Bodøe/Glimt respectively to reach the UEL final.

HC: Amorim MUST win!!
