Former Nigeria and Real Betis winger, Finidi George, has sent his congratulations to Spanish La Liga club, Real Betis, after making it to the final of the Uefa Europa Conference League with a 4-3 aggregate win over Italian Serie A club, Fiorentina.
On Thursday 8 May, 2025, Real Betis and Fiorentina finished 2-2 in Italy in their UECL semi final second leg; the Spanish side emerged victorious in the first leg 2-1.
Finidi George who currently manages Port Harcourt-based NPFL club, Rivers United, wrote: “Congratulations Real Betis! Let’s win it!”
The former Super Eagles player fielded for Real Betis from 1996 to 2000, recording 130 appearances and 38 goals, finished runner-up in the Copa Del Rey 1996/97; he was among the Nigeria team that lifted the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in 1994.
In his congratulatory message to Real Betis, Finidi George wrote: “Congratulations Real Betis! Into the Europa conference final. One last game. One last push. Let’s win it!”
