Rotimi Amaechi At 60: President Tinubu hails former Governor on ‘invaluable contributions to Rivers State’

President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Rotimi Amaechi for his “invaluable contributions to Rivers State”.

The President made the remark as he celebrates Rotimi Amaechi on the occasion of the former Minister’s 60th birthday on Tuesday 27 May, 2025.

Rotimi Amaechi was born on 27 May, 1965 in Ikwerre, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Via a State House Press Statement, signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy on Tuesday 27 May, 2024, President Tinubu, said, Amaechi “dedicatedly served Rivers state”, and prayed, “for more years and God’s grace for the former minister and wishes him well in his political career”.

According to the State House Press Statement: “President Bola Tinubu rejoices with Mr Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, a prominent politician and former Minister of Transportation, on his 60th birthday on May 27. The President highlights Amaechi’s invaluable contributions to Rivers State as a former speaker and two-term governor, saying he dedicatedly served the state.

“During his tenure, the former governor was also Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum. He served as Minister of Transportation in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet for eight years. President Tinubu prays for more years and God’s grace for the former minister and wishes him well in his political career.”
