Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid C.F., announced that Raúl has made it known to the club of his decision to end his time as a coach at the club’s youth academy.
Real Madrid appreciates that it had one of the greatest legends in the club’s history and world football as a coach and trainer at its youth academy.
Raul managed Cadete B (U15s) and Juvenil B (U18s) in the 2018-2019 season. He has coached Castilla since then. In August 2020, he also managed Juvenil A (U19s), the team that clinched the Youth League.
The Los Blancos wishes Raúl and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.
The former Spanish forward will remain a part of Real Madrid, and in the hearts of Madridistas, the club said.
This is coming following the appointment of Xabi Alonso, another legend of Real Madrid, as head coach of the club’s first team.
Alonso is replacing Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti, after Real Madrid finished second on the La Liga 2024/25 table with 84 points, four (4) points behind Champions, Barcelona, led by German manager, Hansi Flick.
On four (4) occasions, Ancelotti’s Real Madrid clashed with Flick’s Barcelona, and the Los Blancos lost them all to their arch rivals, the Catalans.
Alonso has been unveiled as Real Madrid new manager on Monday 26 May, 2025 at Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid by the club President, Florentino Perez, who said during the unveiling, this is “dawn of a new era”.
Former midfieder, Alonso, said, he is happy to “be back at home” after his unveiling in Madrid City; he left Bayer Leverkusen on the second spot of the Bundesliga 2024/25 table with 69 points, 13 points behind Champions, Bayern Munich.
